Insurance within Rome 1 - a consultation

This is an HMT consultation (jointly with the Department of Constitutional Affairs), launched on 5 March 2007, on the issues raised by a proposal to bring insurance generally within the scope of the Rome convention on the choice of law governing contractual obligations. The consultation - which is to inform the development of a UK negotiating position - discusses a number of possible options for the future development of rules on the choice of law for insurance (and reinsurance) contracts. The deadline for comments is 30 March.
